Joe in fact turns out to be Todd Manson, but he changed his name in prison when he saw the light. The next Shirley an Joe turn up at the flat, where Shirley reveals he seen the light as well. They tell Tom to stop sleeping with men, it all ends when Linda and Tom beat Shirley and Joe up with Tom's crutches.
