The Flying Doctors : Emma and Violet receive a warm welcome when they return to the Crossing. Following Joe's departure, the RFDS gets a new Radio Operator, Demitrious Goannidis, better known as DJ. Meanwhile, new pilot Sam finds himself unpopular with Geoff when he gives local political figure Rob Dalton a lift in the Nomad. His political opponant George Baxter is none too happy either. When Sal Clary doesn't turn up for a clinic round, Kate is concerned and determined to find out why. On their way back to the Crossing they call stop off at the Cleary's and make a surprising discovery. Sal's daughter is unmarried and pregnant. In order to prevent a scandal, they have decided to remain in hiding until the baby is born, then they will claim the baby is Sal's. Kate and Sam agree to keep whet they have learnt quiet. However, when there are some problems during the birth, things don't run as smoothly as they would want. After a fierce round of political arguments, George wins the election.
