): The Marriage Counselor is a 2008 play directed by, written by, and produced by American playwright Tyler Perry. 'The Marriage Counselor' is the 10th play by Perry. Roger Jackson is an accountant by profession. He takes care of not only his wife, Judith, but his father, Floyd, and Judith's mother, T.T., who were both displaced by Hurricane Katrina. The two parents do not get along and bicker constantly. Judith is an Ivy League-educated marriage counselor who gives marital advice everyday, yet seems to find difficulty assessing the issues with her own marriage. An old flame from college entices Judith to leave her husband, her parents, her home and her practice. Through a series of unpredictable events, she finds that her new life may not be as wonderful as she thought it would be. Her cleaner her practice hands in her notice and tells her that she has HIV. In disbelief she asks her how she contracted it and soon finds out that it was from her ex-husband who did drugs and was a womaniser. Unknowingly Judith leaves her life slowly step by step just as her husband is trying to improve their relationship and add passion. One day he decides to surprise her at her practice which she has now forgotten about.
