Long ago, magical beans created a massive stalk that acted as a bridge between the kingdoms of humans and the land of ruthless giants, led by the two-headed General Fallon (Bill Nighy and John Kassir) until a great king managed to put them in their place and send them back home. Centuries later, a farm boy named Jack (Nicolaus Hoult) unwittingly finds himself in possession of such beans and accidentally gets them wet, causing another great stalk to grow and put the woman he was falling for, Princess Isabelle (Eleanor Tomlinson), into the land of the giants. With this new stalk, the giants threaten to return and put everyone's lives at stake. With the help of his new friends, including the elite guard Elmont (Ewan McGregor), Jack sets out to rescue Isabelle and stop the giants once and for all.
